What is UCAS Extra?
UCAS Extra is another opportunity to secure your place at Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ if things haven’t gone quite to plan or you’re still researching your options.
You can choose up to five courses on your UCAS application. If you’ve received decisions for all five and either:
You may be able to use UCAS Extra to apply for another course, at no extra cost, before Clearing opens.
Please note:

You can only add one course at a time through Extra

Once you add an Extra choice, you can’t return to your original five choices
UCAS will let you know if and when you’re eligible to use Extra.
When does UCAS Extra open?
UCAS Extra opens on 26 February 2026 and closes on 4 July 2026.
How to apply through UCAS Extra

Find the course you’re interested in and check if places are available

Contact our enquiry team to see if they’ll consider your application and to ask any questions

Add the course as your Extra choice in your UCAS application

If you are successful, you’ll hear from us directly!
UCAS Extra doesn’t allow you to submit a new personal statement or reference through UCAS. If you’re applying for a different subject, we recommend sending an updated personal statement directly to us after submitting your Extra choice.

You can also ask your referee to update your reference if needed.
UCAS Extra offers
If we send you an offer (conditional or unconditional), you can accept or decline it just like any other UCAS offer. Make sure you do this before 4 July 2026.
If you accept the offer, it becomes your firm choice.
If you don’t receive an offer within 21 days, or you choose to decline it, you can add another UCAS Extra choice.
